Research abstract:
SAPIM - Smart Audio Processing for Interactive Multimedia.
The aim of this project is to develop novel music signal processing methods that can be embedded in innovative solutions for music production and game development.
Biography:
Michael Stein obtained his engineer's degree in Media Technology (Dipl.-Ing.) from Ilmenau University of Technology (Germany) in 2009. In his diploma thesis, he investigated methods for automatic detection and removal of audio effects in guitar recordings. From 2007 to 2010 he has been working at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (Ilmenau, Germany) in the departments Data Representation & Interfaces and Semantic Music Technologies. He joined the DSSP group in 2010 as a researcher working on the SAPIM project.
