Matthias Varewyck

Matthias Varewyck received his master degree in electronic engineering at Ghent University in 2005. His master thesis was conducted at the DSSP group and describes the use of support vector machines for automatic musical genre recognition. After receiving his degree, he was engaged as a member of the SEMA-project. His research is about model selection for support vector machines and its application for the automatic tracking of metrical structures in musical audio. His publications can be found here.
