Jean Pierre Martens

Research abstract: 
Group leader with interests in speech and musical audio processing.
In 1974, he graduated as an electrical engineer and he obtained his PhD in 1982 with a dissertation on objective speech quality prediction. Since 1974, he was been working at ELIS, first as a researcher, then as an associate professor, and since 1996 as a full professor. He has carried out research in psychoacoustics, auditory model based speech analysis, speech recognition (connectionist and segmental acoustic models, pronunciation variations in the lexicon) and music signal analysis (extraction of musical content). He is co-author of many papers in international journals and proceedings of international conferences and workshops. He is also (co)-editor of 4 international workshop proceedings.
